Abstracted Landscapes

This 2-hour all-levels class will use the basics of landscape painting composition and the elements of art to combine techniques for both landscape painting and abstraction to create your own unique painting. All materials provided.

Reverse Drawing with Watercolor and Line

Students will be encouraged to follow their own inspiration as they are guided through the process of first painting with watercolor and then drawing the lines with pencil, pen, or marker. This 2-hour class provides all materials and invites all skill levels.

Travel Sketchbook

Improve your travel experience, whether it be vacation or staycation, with this 2-hour all-levels class that combines sketching, watercolor, and journaling. All materials provided.

Sketching Animals with a Grid

Practice a technique that many artists use and learn how to sketch any animal from a reference photo, whether to be used as a start for a drawing or as a basis for a painting. This 2-hour class provides all materials and invites all skill levels.

Color Mixing

Using a limited palette of acrylic paint, explore mixing to create a wide range of colors from neutral and natural to bold and vibrant while learning tips and tricks to using color effectively in your art. This 2-hour class provides all materials and invites all skill levels.

Watercolor Feathers

Develop your watercolor skills in this simple project that practices color mixing and brushwork to create feather paintings. This 2-hour class provides all materials and invites all skill levels.

Still Life Painting

Explore a variety of materials and learn to “see” like an artist as you create your own still life artwork.

For the Venue: This can be offered as a short 2-3 hour class painting fruit or as a multi-day in-depth class painting flowers. Depending on the length of the class, I will either provide all art supplies or give students a materials list for them to bring their own supplies.

Painting Patterns

Practice watercolor painting and build confidence with brushwork as you paint lines, circles, leaves, and other patterns in this 2-hour class. These skills are great simply as a mindful practice or as a start to contemporary art. All skill levels welcome, all materials provided.

Feeling Zen with Zentangles

Explore your creativity in this art form that often feels calming or meditative. Learn how to start your zentangle practice, play with different materials (pencil, pen, and marker), and find community through art in this 2-hour class. All skill levels welcome, all materials provided.

Out of this World: Painting Cratered Planetary Surfaces

Calling all moon goddesses and space nerds. This 2-hour art class combines painting and space science to create planetary surfaces like the moon and Mercury. All skill levels welcome, all materials provided.

Workshop: Planning, Painting, and Presentation

This workshop walks students through the process of creating a piece of artwork, from planning color and composition to painting their design to finishing the artwork for display. All skill levels welcome, though some experience with watercolor, acrylic, or oil paint is required. Students will be given a materials list to bring their own supplies.

For the venue: This workshop should be offered as either 2 full days or 4-6 shorter sessions.

Introduction to Oil Painting

Curious about learning how to paint with oil on canvas? Join me as I introduce you to this fun and forgiving medium. Explore different techniques and styles of oil painting, learn tips for clean up and safe practices, and create your own painting. All levels welcome.

For the Venue: This can be offered as a short “sampler” 2-3 hour class with all materials provided, or as an in-depth, multi-day class with students given a materials list for bringing their own supplies.

Pricing: Private lessons in your home or other location, $30/hour, typically lasting 1.5 to 2 hours ($45 - $60 per session). Art supplies will be provided for the first session only, afterward the student should have their own supplies. Small group (2-9 people) lesson in your home or other location, 1.5 hours, $35/person. Art supplies will be provided. Large group (10 or more people) lesson in your home or other location, 1.5 hours, $30/person. Art supplies will be provided.
