This shows my take on the view from the north side of Reykjavik, Iceland across the water from the boulder-lined path tha stretches along the coast. This oil on canvas painting was created in 2022 with brush and palette knife with thick applications of paint and abstracted detail.
A spontaneous trip to Iceland in November 2019 brought me to 10 days of breath-takingly beautiful sites: waterfalls and glaciers and volcanic flows and hot springs. This trip, these photos, would inspire many paintings through the covid shutdowns, and would help to sustain my wanderlust until the world opened up again.
